I’ve been told my whole life that I’m too emotional.

For a long time, I thought maybe that was something I needed to change.
Now I think it might be one of my favorite things about myself.
Because the older I get, the more I realize that the emotion attached to our memories is what makes life so meaningful.
It’s why a picture can make you laugh years later. Why seeing how little your baby used to be can stop you in your tracks. Why a photo from an ordinary day can suddenly become one of the ones you treasure most.
Maybe I feel things a little deeply, but I think that’s kind of the point.
Life moves quickly. The people we love grow and change, seasons end, kids get bigger, trips become stories we tell. And then all of a sudden, the small moments that seemed so ordinary become the ones we wish we could hold on to for a lifetime.

So I started making.

I had all of these photos that I loved, but most of the time they just sat on my phone. I wanted them somewhere I could actually see them.
I knew what I wanted in my head, I just didn’t know exactly how to make it yet. So I got to work trying to figure it out.
There were definitely some failed attempts along the way, and Masson & Co. looks a little different now than it did when I first imagined it. But the reason behind it has always been the same.
I wanted to make something that gave the photos we love a place in our everyday lives.

Your story is the part that matters.

When you send me a photo, I probably won’t know the story behind it. I won’t know if it was the first picture of everyone together in years, the best trip you’ve ever taken, or just a random day that ended up meaning more to you than you ever expected it to.
What I do know is that you chose that photo for a reason. Out of all the pictures sitting in your camera roll, that’s the one you wanted to hold on to a little differently.
That’s what I hope your keepsake brings you back to when you see it. Not just what was happening in the photo, but everything you remember about that person, that place, or that time in your life.
At the end of the day, I’m giving your photo a place outside of your phone, but everything it means is already yours.
